The James Tyler Studio Elite HDX represents everything that makes Tyler guitars so recognizable at first glance. The Sea Dragon Fade Shmear finish is completely over the top in the best way possible, blending aqua, pearl, silver, and seafoam tones into something that barely looks real in person. The matching headstock takes it even further and ties the whole build together perfectly. Combined with the maple board, chrome hardware, and classic white knobs, this guitar has that unmistakable high end California custom shop vibe that only Tyler seems to pull off this well.
Underneath the finish is a seriously versatile professional instrument. The alder body and quartersawn maple neck give the guitar a fast, lively response with tons of clarity and snap, while the JTS2 Hot Laura single coils deliver articulate cleans and detailed top end without sounding thin. The Shark humbucker adds weight and punch when needed, and the onboard midboost opens up a huge range of tones that make this an incredibly flexible guitar.
