The Novo Serus J Custom has a look and feel that is unmistakably its own, pulling from vintage offset design without ever feeling like a recreation of something that came before it. This custom build is finished in Taos Turquoise with Novo’s Light distress level, allowing the grain of the tempered pine body to subtly show through while carefully placed wear gives the guitar the character of an instrument that has already been played for years. The matching headstock and Aged Pearloid pickguard absolutely nail the aesthetic.
The wood combination is classic Novo. A lightweight tempered pine body is paired with a tempered maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, with Novo’s Medium C profile measuring .830" and a 9.5" to 14" compound radius. It is an incredibly comfortable setup that keeps the vintage inspiration intact while feeling considerably more refined and modern in the hand.
A pair of Lollar P90s with white covers gives the Serus J everything from open, articulate cleans to the raw midrange and bite that makes a great P90 guitar so addictive. The Mastery M1 bridge and NV Vibrato with Lightning Bolt arm complete the package, giving the guitar one of the best offset vibrato systems available.
Everything about this one works. Taos Turquoise, aged pearloid, white P90s, tempered woods and just the right amount of distressing, all wrapped around the unmistakable Serus J shape.
