This one brings together three of the coolest things PRS is doing right now: the DMO Limited, Sprayer’s Choice and Wood Library. The DMO Limited brings PRS’s DMO pickups to the Custom 24 08 platform, Sprayer’s Choice gives the finish team freedom to create something outside the normal color catalog, and Wood Library takes the woods and appointments well beyond a standard Core model. Put all three together and you end up with a combination that is effectively a one of one.
The Sprayer’s Choice Deep Sea Blue Fade is the centerpiece. An exceptional Flame Maple 10 Top moves from rich blue into teal and green, with the figuring staying incredibly strong across the entire top. Flip it over and PRS completely changes direction with a blue and green sparkle finish across the mahogany back. Smoked black hardware finishes it off perfectly. This is exactly why Sprayer’s Choice guitars are so cool. You are getting something outside the normal PRS color catalog, chosen and executed by the people who know PRS finishes better than anyone.
The Wood Library spec is equally special, pairing the mahogany body with a one piece figured maple Pattern Thin neck, Ziricote fretboard and matching Ziricote headstock veneer. Old School Outline Birds look incredible against the Ziricote, while the natural figured maple neck gives the back of the guitar yet another completely different look.
Finally, the DMO humbuckers bring PRS’s Dynamic, Musical, Open voice to the Custom 24 08 platform, with a three way toggle and individual mini toggle EQ switches giving you a ton of flexibility from a simple two humbucker layout. Add the Gen III tremolo and Phase III locking tuners and you have a Custom 24 08 that combines DMO Limited, Sprayer’s Choice and Wood Library into one seriously special PRS.
