The PRS Custom 24-08 Wood Library Sprayer’s Choice already starts from a special place, pulling its woods from PRS's private vault rather than the standard Core inventory. Then it was handed to one of PRS's master finish artists as part of the exclusive Sprayer's Choice program, where there are no formulas and no repeats. I'll admit, I'm a sucker for finishes like this.At first glance, it's simply gorgeous. Then you get a little closer and start noticing the incredibly fine metallic layered throughout the Magenta Purple Colorshift. It's sophisticated, tasteful, and one of those guitars you'll find yourself walking back over to for another look.
The wood selection is every bit as impressive. The figured maple neck is outrageous, with tight, consistent flame running the entire length of the neck. It's paired with a gorgeous ziricote fretboard and matching headstock veneer, creating a combination that feels far more Private Stock than Core. Flip the guitar over, and the ribbon mahogany back tells the same story. The grain is remarkably straight, uniform, and beautifully ribboned; exactly the kind of mahogany you'd hope to find after digging through PRS's private wood vault.
Of course, it backs up the looks with the performance to match. The DMO pickups offer exceptional clarity, punch, and harmonic complexity, while the dual mini-toggle switches unlock eight highly usable pickup combinations without overcomplicating the controls. Add the PRS Gen III tremolo, smoked black hardware, and the effortless feel of the Pattern Thin figured maple neck, and you have a Custom 24-08 that's as inspiring to play as it is to look at. This is one of those rare Wood Library builds where every single detail came together just right.
